This morning i spend some time with Eileen chatting about her impending delivery and capturing her beautiful belly. This perfect belly contains the cousin of deliciously gorgeous Taya. To say i am thrilled to photograph this babe as a newborn is an understatement!!

I had another beautiful belly in today. Trisha and Ash are expecting their first baby in about a month. Trisha looks amazing, and has the most beautiful round belly.

As my regular blog readers would be aware of, I absolutely adore newborn babies! They are special little miracles that melt my heart. For quite some time i have been very interested in photographing a labour and birth. It is such a sensitive thing to suggest to people so i have yet to go down that path.
When a fellow photographer friend of mine Lana Bell (from Little Posers Photography in Brisbane) recently photographed another photographers birth.. the result was breathtaking.
There is a misconception that birth photography is invasive. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Birth photography is about capturing the small details that you forget in the throws of labour- from a quiet corner of the room. Those moments of first meeting your miracle that can never be repeated. The women that i have come across in my research into birth photography, have all said that their photos are some of their most precious possessions.
When i saw the following slideshow of the birth that Lana photographed.. it epitomized what birth photography is all about. Its about capturing the moments and emotion in the room.
