Another girls day today. The boys are still camping and fishing. We are very much looking forward to seeing them tomorrow as spending three days with my temperamental teenager four year old is wearing thin.
This afternoon we went and had dinner in at a park near our house that we stumbled on whilst driving around the area. We met a lovely boy and his mother (who may be reading this blog – hi!!) who were kind enough to share some bread with Maddi!

Hello again lovely friends!
Those that follow my business facebook page would already be aware but for those that don’t, we are officially living in Canberra!! The move went well although after almost four weeks on the move the kids have been enjoying being “home” with their belongings.
I am officially booking Canberra newborns and babies for photography sessions. Please contact me (using the “contact” button above) if you would like to book a session and i can direct you to a brand new private client website which contains all sorts of information about getting your babe photographed by me!
Onto the main reason for my post. Four years ago a group of my photographer friends and myself began a project using the holiday month of January to photograph our own children each day. I managed to do it for that year only. Each year between now and then i have been having a break from my camera over that month. I decided that this year i would participate again! These days my children’s lives are documented though my iPhone and i want to make a special effort to capture their lives for a month.
My husband has taken Caleb on a boys camping and fishing trip for a few days. Madison and I have been having some girly time together! We went to the movies this morning to see Happy Feet 2, and tonight we had a bath and painted nails. As a treat she is sleeping in our bed tonight and watching the Smurf movie with an apple to snack on!

Yesterday afternoon i photographed the family of a recent newborn client. We pack up our house on Monday for our new adventure in Canberra. I’m feeling mixed emotions about next week, but mostly sadness that i am leaving behind such beautiful clients. Over the past three years i have photographed close to 250 different families, most of them in such a vulnerable time in their lives as they welcome precious newborns to their families. Three years ago on arrval into Darwin, i had no idea the imprint this place and these people would leave on my heart. My life has truly been made so much more amazing due to the support of this beautiful town.
I will be making yearly trips back to Darwin to photograph my clients families, so please contact me on danielle@daniellestahl.com.au to be placed onto my database.
With that i wanted to share just a few photos from my final Darwin clients. I photographed beautiful Alyssa a few weeks ago and yesterday i met the rest of her family!
Thanks again for all the support over the past few years.. and stay tuned for my Canberra adventures next year.
Much love and best wishes,
Danielle ~xox

I photographed Jordyn’s beautiful mama when she was pregnant and today i got to meet the little lady herself! She was just born on Monday so is only a mere three days new!
In other news.. i am traveling down to Melbourne next week to attend a family wedding. Upon my return to Darwin we will only have two weeks left until we leave. I don’t have any newborns booked in, although can squeeze in some last minute bookings in the two weeks i have left.
Potentially Jordyn could have been my last baby in Darwin! I asked my lovely client to take a quick iPhone snap of Jordyn and myself this morning! I posted it below Jordyns photos! I am so incredibly sad to leave behind my beautiful clients!

Jen - What a delightful viewpoint. So girly.January 3, 2012 – 6:31 pm
Katie Toland - How adorable. I love how they imitate, and get all the little details included… like the heals or the stance.
(Love your hall table too!! Gorgeous)January 3, 2012 – 9:20 pm
